Owner/Instructor - Judy Favor, Ph.D.
In 10 years as an NCAA Division I and II head softball coach and educator,
Judy Favor earned 4 Coach-of-the-Year honors, led her teams to 5 straight
NCAA National Tournaments, and amassed a 336-188 career record. She
also developed 6 NCAA All-Americans, 28 All-Region, and 27 All-
Conference Players including 2 who played in the Women’s Professional
Fastpitch League and 1 who played on the 2000 Canadian Olympic Team and
was a Pan Am Games silver medalist.
A former collegiate and women’s ASA major pitcher, Favor was an All-Conference, All-Region and
Academic All-American performer and led her team in hitting. As an assistant coach at Southeast
Missouri State University, she helped guide SEMO to a 4th place finish in the 1991 NCAA Division II
National Tournament.
In 1992, Favor became head coach at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, and quickly
developed one of the premier NCAA Division II teams in the nation. After only 3 years, the Lady
Cougars earned their first ever NCAA National Ranking and their first birth to the NCAA Tournament.
The previously unknown Columbus State University softball program quickly became one of the most
highly respected fastpitch programs in NCAA Division II finishing the 1999 season as the #1 ranked
team in the nation. Favor’s CSU teams were consistently among the NCAA statistical leaders in both
pitching and hitting and claimed two PBAC Championships.
Coach Favor served on the 1996 Olympic Softball Planning Committee, the 1996 NCAA Division I
National Softball Championship committee, and coordinated the 1996 NCAA YES Softball Clinic for
400 area youth. She also coordinated practice sessions on her college field for Team USA and
coordinated and supervised the bat girls and ball girls for the 1996 Olympics.
In 2000, Favor took the reigns at Wichita State University where she led the dismal 9th place Shockers
to a 6th place finish in only two years, finished in the top 3 in the MVC in hitting, improved the team in
every statistical category, set a new WSU homerun record, and defeated Big 12 rivals Kansas and
Oklahoma State University.
Respected among college colleagues for her ability to develop and get the most out of her players, Coach
Favor has been a private fastpitch pitching and hitting coach and has conducted softball lessons, camps,
and clinics for over 20 years. She is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and holds
Bachelor’s degrees in physical education and English, a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling,
and a Ph.D. in Education with a major in Sport Management.
